Needless to say, I have done a pretty lousy job of updating my blog. The plan is to get it all up to date this week with a new post each day! For this session, we get to go back quite a few months, when the weather was warm and the grass was green. Not looking forward to the hot weather making its return, but I will definitely be happy for all of nature to look alive again!
I had so much fun with Ashlynn and her parents in downtown Winter Park. Her mom brought her the cutest outfits and hair accessories. Since this session, Miss Ashlynn has become a big sister, and I’m sure is doing a fabulous job helping Mommy and Daddy with the newest addition to their family. Thanks, Evins family!

You’ve heard of baby fever, right? Urban Dictionary defines it as “When a girl starts feeling a strong desire to have a baby, possibly to the point of obsession.” I have several friends that are pregnant right now, most with their second child. While I am very (VERY) happy to be a Mommy of just one extremely sweet little boy, each time another friend announces her new little bun in the oven, I feel a twinge of “What if?”. And then I start thinking about the type of bedding I could buy for them, and how I would decorate the nursery. Then I start browsing through all of Etsy’s adorable handmade baby goodies. AGAIN. Then it hit me…I don’t have baby fever…I have baby accessory fever!! It’s true…My name is Cassie and I am a crocheted hat/soft baby blanket/colorful, unique mobile/happy, peaceful nursery addict! Of course, being the baby “stuff” addict that I am, I love to see how people decorate their nurseries. Each one is so unique and personal, and I appreciate all the loving attention to detail that every parent puts into making their baby’s first home as perfect as can be. And so the Cutest Nursery Contest is born!

I have a fun job. I get to photograph beautiful families and adorable little ones. And sometimes, when I’m REALLY lucky, I get to photograph beautiful families and adorable little ones that happen to also be great friends! Such was the case when I got to shoot sweet baby Gauge and handsome, ticklish Titus. They both have great Mommies that are good friends of mine, so it was my pleasure to get some shots of their little men.
I brought along some props for my shoot with Gauge. An antique childrens rocking chair and a galvanized tub. If you’re interested in using these props for your shoot, just let me know!

I recently had the honor of photographing 2 Operation: Love Reunited sessions. First up was Katlyn and her husband Andrew. These two are still newlyweds and yet have spent much of their first year of marriage separated as Andrew serves our country. I hit it off immediately with these two, and we had such a fun morning taking these photos all around their beautiful community. Even in the sticky humidity and heat, this sweet couple kept laughing and having a great time. Andrew and Katlyn, it was a pleasure meeting you, and I pray for Andrews safe and speedy return home!

Next up is Hannah and Levi. This young couple is engaged and they were both so sweet. Hannah has recently relocated to the area to work for Disney, and neither of these Northerners were quite used to Florida’s blazing heat and humidity! They were both great sports, though, and we got some great shots of these lovebirds! Hannah and Levi, it was an honor to meet and photograph you guys! I wish you many, many years of love, laughter, and happiness!

Well, the time has come to say goodbye to my twenties and welcome in the year of the big 3-0. Can’t say I’m really looking forward to it, but since it is such a milestone, I thought it deserved its own special! Sooooo….for the entire month of April, take 30% off the session fee. That’s $60.00 off a child’s session and $75 off a family session! Now’s the time for Spring portraits! Take advantage of the beautiful weather and get those portraits made before the overbearing heat of Summer is upon us!
Session must take place in April and this offer is not to be combined with any other offers. Contact me to book your session today!
And just because no post is complete without a photo, here’s one I got of my husband and son the other day that just makes my heart happy.

I was fortunate enough to be able to photograph an event for the Ronald McDonald House of Orlando last week. The Ronald McDonald House provides a home away from home for families who have a child in the NICU. I came to learn about them when my own son was in the NICU as a newborn, so this is a cause that my husband and I hold close to our hearts. I was honored to take part in their celebrity chef cook off, which had a great turnout. Four local celebrities served up their favorite hamburgers in hopes of winning the Golden Spatula award. Jayde, a DJ at local radio station XL 106.7, took home the award for the second year in a row. Everyone in attendance had a great time and got to enjoy yummy food, drinks, and live music. The crew at Ronald McDonald House, Key Initiative, and the great staff at Johnny’s Filling Station all worked together to coordinate a fabulous event. If you’d like to learn more about Ronald McDonald House of Orlando, or donate your money or time to this wonderful cause, please take a moment to visit their website by clicking here.

I am a big fan of I Heart Faces, although I’ve never actually entered one of their photo challenges before. But when I heard that the challenge this week involved two of my absolute favorite things; Tara Whitney and black and white imagery; I just had to participate.
This photo was taken back in August, and at the time, my son was a little bit obsessed with lotion. So much so, that he got the bottle out of his room, and proceeded to rub it all over his face, hair, hands, and pajamas. And when I say all over, I mean alllll overrrrr. Rather than immediately stop him from making one of the stickiest, greasiest messes ever seen, I just watched the whole hilarious debacle unfold through my lens.

Go check out some of the other amazing black and white entries at I Heart Faces!

I recently had the pleasure of shooting this adorable little family in my hometown of Lakeland. They were so sweet and totally willing to explore the back alleys of downtown with me! They brought along a little musical fishie toy that I used to get baby Owen’s attention…turns out it works pretty well on husbands, too! Haha! It was so great meeting you guys–I had a blast! I look forward to next time!

I really love being a participating photographer with Operation: Love Reunited. The courage and sacrifice of the service men and women and their families never ceases to amaze me. This sailor is about to ship off very soon and it was my honor to capture some shots of this family before they have to endure months apart from hubby and daddy. We’ll be keeping you all in our prayers during this challenging time!
